2^nd Forum on Spirituality and Spiritual Care

The first forum “Spirituality and Spiritual Care” took place in June last year. It aimed at bringing together people working on the field of education with those working on the field of specific pastoral and spiritual care in order to build up a network of mutual exchange and learning. The second forum, too, made this aim its business. Its special focus lay on taking care for people with handicaps and with a psychiatric case history and burden.

The program had two main topics:

In the first part, Hildegard Weiß from the Department of Pastoral Care for Handicapped People (diocese Münster) offered a vivid view of spiritual approaches to people with handicaps in regard to dying and mourning. In the second part, Karin Lorenz of Johannes-Hospiz gave an impressive keynote speech on creative spiritual approaches in bereavement counselling of people with a psychiatric case history or burden. The following discussion was a great enrichment.

This valuable event that took place on the premises of the Academy in January, will be continued in 2019. Then we will be able to draw from a medley of possible subjects.
