Newsletter March 2022

Dear Readers,

The terrible suffering in Ukraine is pushing the everyday occurrencies into the background. Since 2017 we have been bound up in a partnership with the hospice in Iwano-Frankiwsk in West Ukraine. A great confidence has grown by many common projects and activities. I got to know wonderful people from this country, their great commitment, their professional competence and their great hospitality. We stand lost for speech in view of this bottomless violence.

This newsletter does not display the headings you will normally find at this point. It is meant to be a sign of how much we fear, grieve and hope with the people there. We shall put up a sign at the entrance of the Academy depicting our hospice partnership with Iwano-Frankiwsk. It shall show the people in Münster how important this hospice bridge of meeting and learning from one another is for us, hard as the times ever may be.

Kind regards

Andreas Stähli

STATEMENT

We, the colleagues of Johannes-Hospiz, have a deep attachment to the people in Ukraine and their fate. The injustice done to them and the terrible violence have shaken us to the core.

But we feel:

The spirit of solidarity shown up in our hospice work cannot be hurt as love cannot be destroyed.
